What is the Nordic Mythology Podcast?

All the way back in 2019, Daniel Farrand (Owner of Horns of Odin) and Dr Mathias Nordvig shared a mutual frustration for the increasing misuse and inaccurate information being presented about Nordic Mythology and the Viking Age; and the podcast was born.

Coming from a non scholarly background, NMP gave Daniel the opportunity to finally put all those burning questions like,"Is the Helm of Awe Viking", "What does Viking mean?" and "What is a Crotum?" to a legit scholar of Nordic studies.

Through long form organic conversations focusing on historical accuracy being told in an entertaining and digestible manner, the podcast quickly started to invite a "who's who" of guests to join the show. Including; world leading scholars in their field, Tattooists, Authors, Artists, Actors and many many more!

Welcome MArgrethe Havgar + NMP v2.0

After 3 years and 130+ episodes, Dr Nordvig departed the podcast due to a change in personal circumstances and to explore new endeavors.

With Daniel's child like curiosity well and truly still unsatisfied, the podcast marched on with a solo host.

After featuring in the longest episode in NMP histroy (Ep. 163), it was clear that Margrethe Havgar would be the perfect new addition as Co-Host along side Daniel.

Over the years, NMP has become more than just the host. We have built a beautiful community of listeners. And behind the scenes is an amazingly talented team, which without the podcast simply could exist.

Daniel Farrand - Host - Daniel owner "Viking lifestyle" brand Horns of Odin, and has an insatible thrist for learning, and self deprication.

Margrethe Havgar - Co-Host - After featuring in the LONGEST episode in NMP history (Ep. 163), Margrethe featured as a returning guest, before becoming the new co-host.

Matt Greenway - Arist - AKA TheSaxonStoryteller. Matt is the man responsible for the STUNNING episode artwork over the years.

Alyssa Nilsen - Social Media - Listener turned team member. Aylssa expertly takes care of the NMP social media.

Rhone Kell + Sam Jarrold - Editing - Rhone and Sam are the wizards behind ensuring the podcast always sound and looks amazing!

Bob van Strijen - Booker - PHD candidate Bob has featured on the podcast on two occasions, and is the man responsible for book some of the most incredible guests to date.
